Ringtone start

Hello,

I'm connecting to CUCM 10.5.1 and the IT guys who have set it up say that they have enabled the call out ringtone (the music that the dialer hears). I have tested this with Cisco IP Communicator and yes, it has a ringing sound when making a call. However when I connect to the CUCM with a CTI Port I do not get any kind of message that should somehow tell me to start a listening and hear the ringing sound. What kind of message should I receive?

In this case as CTI Port is a virtual device, application will have to play the tone based on the events it receives like NewCall, Offering, etc.

By play the tone you mean, playing simply a sound file, or using some other Tapi function?

To answer my own question, in case of virtual devices (like CTI Port) you will need to play the sound file.
