I'm attempting to upgrade an AIR-AP2802i-B-K9 from LWAPP to ME.
I believe I'm running into the bug defined here:
https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvb51114/?referring_site=bugquickviewclick
Not sure what happens in that file/ copy process - but here's what ends up at the end of the ap-type ME tftp command:
ap-type mobility-express tftp://192.168.1.144/AIR-AP2800-K9-ME-8-3-102-0.tar
Image downloaded, writing to flash...
do CHECK_ME, part2 is active part
tar: can't open '/tmp/part.tar': No such file or directory
No part.bin found
part to upgrade is part1
tar: can't open '/tmp/part.tar': No such file or directory
cp: can't stat '/bootpart/part1/info.ver': No such file or directory
activate part1, set BOOT to part1
grep: /tmp/info.ver: No such file or directory
AP primary version:
grep: /tmp/info.ver: No such file or directory
grep: /tmp/info.ver: No such file or directory
cp: can't stat '/tmp/part.tar': No such file or directory
Archive done.

Doesnt look like everything copies properly or something is locked/ unavailable.
I've got a case open with Cisco - but curious if anybody else has run into this issue or has a work around.

if your issue is same as this bug https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvb51114/?referring_site=bugquickviewclick
then i also faced same issue with a 2800 series AP that came with Light Weight software version 8.3.102.
The bug page says the workaround is to "use the AIR-AP2800-K9-ME-8-3-102-0.zip file" but this file is not available on cisco software site.
The did the following and successfully converted the AP to ME
1. Downgraded Light weight version from 8.3.102 to 8.2.121 using ap3g3-k9w8-tar.153-3.JC3.tar
2. Then upgraded Light weight version from 8.2.121 to 8.8.130 using ap3g3-k9w8-tar.153-3.JI6.tar
3. Then upgraded to ME version 8.10.151 using AIR-AP2800-K9-ME-8-10-151-0.zip.
Hope this helps.
