Its normal as the backend processes are starting up. should take no more than 5mins.

No not just 5 minutes but forever.  It seems to be an issue with downloading the initial Rule DB and if that hangs or fails then the Process gets stuck and probably has to be manually cleared out as reboots of the VM don't do the trick.  At least that's my experience.  It could be a resource limitation that tanks the Rules DB initial install as my environment is a small personal lab setup that is bare minimum spec.  I have to snapshot back.  Going to try manual install instead of download.

Is there any way around this? We have restarted the FPMC but the issue isn't going away. It's been several HOURS now!

Hi,

What version you have installed?

For version 6.2.1 you need to first meet the minimum requirements of the Cisco FMC specifications.

Thanks

Qamar

Title of this thread says it all... 6.2.2

Hi,

If you installed it as a VM , You must check the minimum hardware requirements, The process of Post hardware installation script will stuck some time the processes.

Secondly you also clear the browser caches and try to open the GUI from the others supported browsers.

Third on the VM Console please Check what processes are down or disabled.

Use pmtool status | grep -i gui

share the output of this command, so that we will check which process will stuck.

Thanks

Hi,

Please also check the below link:

Thanks

Qamar,

While it is a VM, it's running with the recommended 16GB of RAM.

The issue occurs in Chrome, Edge and IE, for multiple people.

The certificate being used is the built-in one with the 2048-bit key, so I'm not sure that the bug you posted applies.

Output from the command you mentioned:

root@mifpmc01-pva:/Volume/home/admin# pmtool status | grep -i gui
mysqld (system,gui,mysql) - Running 12108
httpsd (system,gui) - Running 29381
sybase_arbiter (system,gui) - Waiting
vmsDbEngine (system,gui) - Running 12112
ESS (system,gui) - Running 12143
DCCSM (system,gui) - Running 12813
Tomcat (system,gui) - Down
VmsBackendServer (system,gui) - Down
mojo_server (system,gui) - Running 12187

Hi,

For the output i see that tomcat is down,

Please start the tomcat service, systemctl start tomcat

Thanks

Qamar

Were you able to resolve this issue? I'm facing the same problem with the same version(6.2.2). I have checked the SSL certificate and I'm using the default certificate. I also ran the PMTOOL command and all services are up and running (with the exception of sybase_arbiter which is in Waiting status). In short, this is what I've tried so far to no avail (even though most or all are for FMCv versions 6.0 through 6.1):

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuz89292

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Friver001 - where did you get with this? I'm having the exact same issue as yourself. Everything running other than sybase_arbiter which is "waiting".  Stuck at with "System processes are starting, please wait."

Running 6.2.2. Running 8GB RAM and 4 CPUs.

Hi,

Same issue.

How did you resolve this?

Solved by created a new instance of the FMC on GNS3.

Are there any solutions for an actual real-life situation? Simulations are one thing...
