SDWAN Error in generating configuration diff for the device"

Hello,

I have vManage (20.9.4) and cEdge(17.16.01a) setup in EVE-NG. All the controllers are in sync and good. cEdge router is reachable and showing up in vManage and control connections are up in cEdge. However when I am trying to push a device template then I am getting following error. I have tried to remove almost all the feature templates with only leaving system feature template and transport template. However I still get the following error then try to attach the cEdge. I have tried to remove and re-add the Wan Edge but still same issue. I was working previously. I have setup the lab from the beginning again and how facing this issue. Any help will be appreciated.

Configuring device with feature template: DC-cEdges-Device-Template
Checking and creating device in vManage
Generating configuration from template
Device is online
Updating device configuration in vManage
Sending configuration to device
Error in generating configuration diff for the device

Check the compatibility matrix :

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/Website/enterprise/catalyst_sdwan_compatibility_matrix/index.html

the version CE edge is latest compare to controller, try lower version like 17.9.X to work as expected

or get latest controller which support 17.16.X code.

check deployment guide :

Using lower version 17.9.8 worked and I was able to push templates successfully. I am not sure how it worked previously with 17.16.01a version.

Thanks for the suggestion.

@SaqibMahmood23493 hi, this could be a bug related to config generation. you can contact cisco TAC to identify the real cause for this for quick solution. meanwhile check the below link, as this version considered as a not-recommended due to recent critical vulnerability.  so i recommend to upgrade this to recommended version first.

This issue is usually caused by a configuration mismatch or stale settings on the cEdge. Try re-adding the device in vManage and ensure certificates/UUID are correct, verify that all template variables are properly filled, and remove any leftover CLI configuration (or perform a factory reset if needed). Also double-check VPN 0 and transport settings. If the problem continues, review vManage logs to identify the exact cause.Nol Card Balance Check

I removed and added the cEdge many times. Also removed and added templates but nothing helped. Eventually lowering the on cEdge from 17.16.01a to 17.9.8 resolved the issue.
