Hi,

Software Image transfer on 2960x using Catalyst Center with HTTPS does not work.

I get following error.

Failure (NCSW32001: Distribution failed using protocol: HTTPS. Distribution of image: c2960x-universalk9-tar.152-7.E11.tar on device. with protocol: HTTPS . Loading Image File to Device failed!. Device response error: [ Could not buffer tarfile...using multiple downloads examining image... %Error opening https://(DNAC IP)/api/v1/file/temporary/6ae95ab4-c09f-4f25-a825-f1198c507052 (I/O error) %Error opening flash:update/info (No such file or directory) ERROR: Image is not a valid IOS image archive. . ] )

Also followed guidelines mentioned in this article but no difference.

Troubleshoot HTTPS Error in Cisco Catalyst Center for SWIM - Cisco

is there any bug or compatibility issue with Classic IOS and Catalyst center (Version 2.3.7.7) ?

Any help would be appreciated.

this is not an error related to https!
https is ok, but the file could not be stored locally. -> first to check is free space in flash
maybe there are too many old images present in flash to download the new one?
or you did not select cleanup filesystem before download?
also check if you really want to upgrade using the .tar image or only need the .bin

the "multiple downloads" mechanism is also used without using Catalyst Center, when using a command like "archive download-image...." and there is not enough image to download the complete .tar archive.

2960X runs on classic IOS therefore the file should be a TAR file.

It doesn't accept .bin file for stack upgrade. I have verified there are sufficient space in flash. Also deleted old images and tried, no change.

Remote into one of the switch stacks and post the complete output to the command "dir".

I suspect the issue is the previous "upgrade" was done with copy-the-BIN-file-to-all-switches method.
