Catalyst Center - IP Address - Enterprise and CIMC Same Subnet / VLAN

Hi Team,

This month,

our customer will deploy Catalyst Center (3rd Gen) in their network.

from what I understand, Catalyst Center need IP for each Interface:

- Enterprise :

- Intercluster

- Management (GUI-oob)

- Internet

- CIMC (appliance)

My planning is that those interface will get these IP (will use port / cable plugged on those ports):

- Enterprise : 192.168.250.125 /24 , GW : 192.168.250.254 , No Static Route ==> On the Switch : VLAN 250

- Intercluster : use default from DNAC (169.254.xxx.xxx /25, no GW and Stattic Route)

- Management (GUI-oob) : Will Not Used

- Internet : Will not Used

- CIMC (appliance) : 192.168.250.5 /24, GW : 192.168.250.254 ==> On the Switch : VLAN 250

My question are :
- Are those IP configuration possible for the DNAC ? *Enterprise and CIMC port have a same Subnet

- what if for port enterprise and Intercluster, using 1G UTP or Optic ? is DNAC still able to continue installation / running ?*due limitation on the switch

Kindly need your inputs.

Thanks,
Cheers.

No those need to be separated.

All of the IP addresses called for in these requirements must be valid IPv4 addresses with valid IPv4 netmasks. Ensure that the addresses and their corresponding subnets do not overlap. Service communication issues can result if they do.

check installation guide respective version :

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hi sir,

thanks for the feedback.

Noted.
meanwhile i found this thread https://community.cisco.com/t5/cisco-catalyst-center/dna-center-cmic-and-management-port-subents/td-p/4313055
it seems the case similar just like mine (CIMC have a same Subnet with Enterprise)

and the maglev wizard only will check the overlapped IP on the Interface Enterprise, Intercluster, Management, Internet (but not CIMC due not under Maglev)

but from one of the post, he said:

"The overlap is only a problem of the interfaces maglev know of and not the CIMC port.

You can have the CIMC port in the same subnet as the enterprise port.

Be aware that in the latest versions of DNAC it want access to the CIMC from the enterprise port for monitoring. And the IPs should be reachable from each other."

Do you know why enterprise port need access to CIMC, monitoring for what?
*if the CIMC and enterprise on the same subnet, they should be reach each other
