Hi all,
I cannot find anything on Fabric-in-a-Box except just one paragraph in the "DNA Design Guide".
How can FiB attach with the legacy Layer-2 or Layer-3 switch?
How a FiB can be extended to multiple floors in the same building?
There is hardly anything on FiB use cases or ways how FiB can be extended??
Could anyone please share any example and Cisco Document about FiB?
Regards,
B

Hello @Beacon Bits
How can FiB attach with the legacy Layer-2 or Layer-3 switch?
FiaB can attach with Legacy Layer-2 or Layer-3 switch by using L2 and/or L3 handoff
To be able to do that, the FiaB must be Border node.
About L2 handoff

How a FiB can be extended to multiple floors in the same building?
FiaB is one switch or a stack of switches. I dont see how can a switch or stack of switches can expent to multples floors.

FiaB is a Fabric device where the Edgem Border, Control plane and Wireless is anbled on the same Fabric device.
Could anyone please share any example and Cisco Document about FiB?
Search for FiaB on the google. But see the document attached.

I have configured a FiaB(3 switch Stack) at one site. Now the requirement is to add two more switches in the basement floor. How can I deal with this?
Do I build another FiaB and attached with the existing FiaB on ground floor or just extend the 2 switch stack using L2/L3 handoff. Any suggestion?

Hi @Beacon Bits
What I saw recently for this scenario is configure Fabric Extended. Take a look on the document attached.

Thanks @Flavio Miranda.
I have found this already but how hidden this information is. Seems like this purposely buried under.

Hi B,
If you have access to SalesConnect, please see this PDF with all the supported FiaB topologies. From one of the slides, you will see an Edge node can daisy chain from a FiaB. See as follows.
FiaB to legacy/traditional network, follows the same as usual with the L3 Handoff.
There is a good Design & Deployment session in CiscoLive that you can watch -> BRKENS-2502
Hope that helps.
