Dear all support,
We use a DHCP pool /25 with a bind of 100 days. This is to evoide ip conflit in our DMZ pnp_onboarding when several techn onboard some switch at the same time. But, I had sometime an IP conflit because I notice the DHCP reservation (even for 100 days) disepear when I lunch the command pnp service reset before onboard a new switch.
My question is, I would like to ensure pnp service reset send an erase current switch IP reservation to the DHCP server ? is'n it ?
Thanks guys.

I doubt that "pnp service reset " releases the current assigned DHCP address!
it's aim is to prepare the switch (not the DHCP server) for a new PnP session
as such the reset is performed at the switch, not on the DHCP server and not on the PnP server
(mind you it can also be executed when the switch is not connected to the network).
one of it's tasks is to clear the PnP servers certificate and other PnP configuration from the switch so it can receive a new
it may also clear the previous known DHCP assigned addresss from the switch locally, so it will not request to renew the old assigned address.
but then again the DHCP server itself may have cached the MAC address/lease information and re-issue the same address as before.
-> you need to manualy clear this at the DHCP server
it is like a macro that performs the following commands:
config terminal no pnp profile pnp-zero-touch no crypto pki certificate pool config-register 0x2102 end delete /force vlan.dat delete /force nvram:*.cer delete /force stby-nvram:*.cer write erase (answer no when asked to save) reload

Thank you for your complet feedback - I will do some another tests.

The PNP service reset does not notify the DHCP server or clear the lease. Also, better to use a smaller leased duration
