DNS Lookup not working on switches

Hey All,

I have campus network with 9300 and 9500 series switches. one 9500 switch sits as DNS Proxy and all users` DNS addresses are pointed to it and everything works fine. But, if I point it in my other switches it is not working. Even I try to address manual IP host command it does not work.

ip host tools.cisco.com 209.165.201.30
ip name-server 8.8.8.8
ip domain name orkhan.local

Yes, I have connectivity to both my internal DNS Proxy and 8.8.8.8.

ping tools.cisco.com
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 2001:420:1101:5::A, timeout is 2 seconds:

% No valid route for destination
Success rate is 0 percent (0/1)

Any help is appreciated.

The ping is reaching out to an ipv6 address, 2001:420:1101:5::A. Is that intentional? It seems to be unroutable from that device.
