FIAB

Hi,

With sda fabric in a box:

1. Can we daisy chain more fabric edge switches from fiab switch stack? Is it supported by latest dna center?

2. If Cat 8300’s are my wan edge, do I just run sdwan on it and use multivrf from 9300 border handoff? Is running site to site sda vxlan supported via sdwan overlay (overlay over overlay)? is it coming in the future?

3. I know that Cat 8300 can also be sda fabric border/control node, but can it be combined with sdwan though? coming in the future? If this is supported, can it be combined with cat9300 stack fiab solution where bn/cn function are moved to cat8300?

I did find this video, but it doesn’t answer all of the above related to FIAB: https://youtu.be/w8yzefPPV84

Thanks!

Hi Roman. With a bit of luck you have access to SalesConnect?

1. Yes, daisy chain of FE behind FIAB is possible. Check following doc for more details -> https://salesconnect.cisco.com/open.html?c=f6a0879f-3a9c-44fa-ad8b-2de9aea4ed30

2. Yes, you can handoff SD-Access VRF to SD-WAN edge node VPN using back-to-back virtual routing tables. SD-Access VXLAN over SD-WAN generally would not be advisable because we can hit MTU issues (VXLAN cannot be fragmented) and SD-WAN cannot see the application payload which would counterfeit SD-WAN application steering logic. There is a work happening now for SD-Access and SD-WAN on same device with automated virtual routing table stitching, please check following URL for details -> https://salesconnect.cisco.com/open.html?c=0e423126-e598-40f3-a2c6-295424ed3e4d

3. You will find answers in URL I posted for Q2.
