Hello,

I'm wondering what would be the correct way if I only need to replace a stack member?
I couldn't find any way in Catalyst Center GUI to mark a stack member for replacement.

Regards.

If you are just replacing a stack member that is not the primary node, here is the process I would follow (if you are not using day-N automation):

1. Remove the faulty switch from the stack
2. Resync the stack in the Cisco Catalyst Center
3. Add the new switch to the stack
4. Resync the switch stack in Cisco Catalyst Center

If you are using Day-N automation (aka, Provisioning), then do a provision after steps 2 and 4.

The typical method is to power down and remove the member you want to replace, install the new switch (ideally with the same image and license), and Catalyst Center should detect the change automatically. Just make sure to back up the stack config beforehand and keep the same member number to avoid any role or priority conflicts.
