Hi comunity,

You want to backup your DNA but you have 2 options:

1. Cisco DNA Center (All data)
2. Cisco DNA Center (without Assurance data)

Which option would be the most recommended and what is each one for?

@Electronic20

  1 is going to backup everything while 2 will not backup information related to assurance, which is data collected from devices while monitoring them.

If you have spece the best option is 1 - all data, which include Assurance. This is helpful for troubeshooting, by keeping Assurance information you can have historical data in trend line and compare the past with the present, which can give you hinds on what´s going on.

Hi @Flavio Miranda

Thanks,
Do you have a simple procedure to backup DNA?
It is necessary to have a Linux server to be able to send the DNA files as

In one it says "Cisco DNA center (Remote Host)" and "Cisco DNA Center (NFS)"

This video provides incorrect steps to configuring the backup server requirements. It's odd because the presenter clearly states to follow the backup admin guide but fails to do so properly. In the video you will notice the presenter defines the directory path for both the Automation (rsync) backup and the NFS mount under /var/nfsshare. This is incorrect.

In the backup admin guide we clearly show that the Automation backup directory and the Assurance (NFS) need to remain separate:

Full backup (Automation and Assurance):

cluster1: /data/automation/cluster1

cluster1: /data/assurance/cluster1
