• Adapter VROPs for Cisco UCS with a collection problem
• Removal of deprecated credential kinds from vROps UI.

Note:

• This management pack is certified by VMware for vROps 8.3 to 8.6 (FIPS & NON-FIPS mode). Cisco UCSM MP 2.0(6) is compatible with vROps 8.0 to 8.2 in NON-FIPS mode but it is not certified by VMware. 
•  The collection issue that occurred in Cisco UCS MP v2.0(5) has been resolved in v 2.0(6).

UCS Management Pack 2.0(1) for VMWare vRealize Operations Manager 6.0/6.1

Happy to announce that UCS Management Pack 2.0 for vRealize Operations 6.0/6.1 is on Cisco.com. 

This pack contains UCS Manager Adapter which helps in monitoring the UCS domain physical infrastructure within vRealize Operations. It provides correlation between the UCS physical and the VMWare virtual infrastructure components and features several capabilities including UCS inventory, monitoring UCS health and alerts, viewing correlations and I/O power, temperature performance metrics from within vRealize Operations.

I am running version 7.5 of vROps and 3.23(h) of UCS. When testing the connection for the management pack I am getting the following error, "Unable to establish a valid connection to the target system. Test failed! Error(551) - Authentication failed".

I have a local read only account configured within UCS that I can login with.

I am using the local administrator password for the vROps connection. 

Here is an example of my credentials.

Any ideas??

I think you just need to change how you call the account. I user a readonly account from our UCS environment. The UCS username is simply: readonly I think this should fix you. I am running this on vROPs 7.5, but it is not offically supported and vROPs 8.0 is to be out in just a month or so, so waiting to see if/when that will be supported.

Having the same problems as others in that I get the following error in vROPS when trying to connect.

Unable to establish a valid connection to the target system. Test failed! Error(551) - Authentication failed

Have tried using different formats for the UCS username to no avail.

Any help is appreciated

Only guessing, but since Blue Medora has a UCS plugin for vROPs, I assume Cisco has decided they don't need to put out their own.  Seems a lot of 3rd Party plug-ins are going that direction.

Any reason for abandoning vROps and this community?  I have tried the Blue Medora plugin and the Cisco Plugin was better.  Will Cisco be supporting vMwares VMware vRealize® Suite Lifecycle Manager™ or is Cisco just ghosting anything VMware now?
