How to clearn /bootflash

The following is pulled right from the Cisco Intersight Troubleshooting.  However there are no instructions on how to do so.  The process is completly differnt IIM the UCSM.

  • There is enough space in the system folders. For the firmware bundle to be downloaded, the minimum storage required in the Fabric Interconnect partitions is:

    • 90 percent free space in /var/tmp

    • 30 percent free space in /mnt/pss

    • 20 percent free space in /var/sysmgr

    • 20 percent free space in /bootflash

How do you check these partions how to clear them?

To view the local storage of an FI in IMM Mode, go to: Operate > Fabric Interconnects > <FI-x in question> > Inventory > Local Storage

To free up space, one way would be to delete the previously cached firmware bundles from both FI's using command: clear-firmware-cache <firmware_id>
Ref "Clear Cache" section here: https://intersight.com/help/saas/troubleshooting#problem:_firmware_upgrade_is_unsuccessful

If the above doesn't address the storage issue, TAC could be an option if root access is needed to investigate filesystem issues.

The Cisco Intersight Managed Mode Configuration Guide - Managing Firmware page that @Michael Freisinger references seems to be a subset of Cisco Intersight Help Center - Problem: Firmware Upgrade is unsuccessful. The former has a lot of the same information, but is missing list-firmware-cache & clear-firmware-cache.

Cisco are making their and users' lives unnecessary difficult by semi-duplicating information between Intersight.com and Cisco.com, but not being able to keep the information in sync. I could argue it both ways (that the information should live on Intersight Help Center, or on Cisco Intersight - Install and Upgrade Guides).

Cisco Intersight Managed Mode Fabric Interconnect Admin Guide - Device Console CLI has all the CLI commands, and lists list-firmware-cache & clear-firmware-cache.

@Sandeep Kumar : based on "if root access is needed to investigate filesystem issues", what is the command  to start debug shell (which requires TAC challenge and response), and is it available on IMM FIs?

To go to the debug shell on IMM FI's, you can do the following:

connect nxos

(nxos)# run cid

This is where it will prompt you to enter your admin credentials and then it will prompt for "Challenge response" from TAC.
