Issue creating new UCS Domain Profile in Intersight

I am trying to create the first UCS Domain Profile but, in the domain assignment session, it is not showing the Fabric Interconnect pair that I created earlier. I configured the FIs for Intersight managed mode and I added the Target to our Intersight account. I see the FIs in our Intersight - Infrastructure Service.

I noticed the FIs do not display an organization and I think that is why it is not showing up when I try to create the UCS Domain Profile.

How to I add the FIs to the default organization?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hello Christian,

I am hoping that your issue is resolved. However posting this for anyone running into this issue in future.

To get started with Intersight, we should understand Intersight RBAC(Role Based Access Control) which talks about Organizations/Resource Groups/Roles/Privileges. Here is a link for the help documentation: https://intersight.com/help/saas/resources#role_based_access_control_(rbac)_in_intersight

When we create profiles/policies/templates/pools, you need to specify an Organization. The profiles can only be associated with Targets(Fabric Interconnects/Servers) when the Targets are part of the same organization.

In your case, if the Fabric Interconnects are not part of the same organization as your Domain Profile, then we won't find the FI's during association. That's the problem we are running into.

The way we associate a Target(Device) under an Organization is with the "Resource Groups".  The article here: https://rednectar.net/2023/09/05/your-first-big-mistake-with-intersight-not-using-rbac/ describes this nicely.

You can also reach out to your Cisco Account team and they can align you with a technical resource to help you on this.
