has anyone been able to convert and use CML in Hyper-V
my Dell laptop does not support VT-x which I cant believe, the Intel CPU does, however my Alienware and Inspiron laptops both do not support virtualization. I was able to install workstation pro and actually create win machines that run, however CML requires VT-x which does not work on my laptop. I paid for CML and cant run it for some labs I am currently taking.
I believe I am just out of luck...

Yes, you do need Intel CPU and support virtualization; do u have Intel CPU? check BIOS settings in laptop to see if u can enable; if not, AMD CPU has equivalent VT settings for support virtualization; check if it is enable in BIOS and VM Ware;
go to CLN CML sub-forum to see if anyone can run CML on AMD

I think if you are switching your Pc from Hyper-V to VMware workstation you need to got to "Turn Windows features on and off" setting. Then untick "hyper-V" and aslo untick "Virtual maching Platform" then reboot. Now when you go back into VMware workstation to setup CML tick "Virtualize Intel VT-x/......" and also change Network Adapter to Bridged (this is optional) before starting it up.
I had to make these setting changes to get my CML 2.8 working. Hope it helps.

Hi @mc2012 Could you please get into the windows command prompt, use command "systeminfo" and can you share screenshot of the last line- Hyper-V Requirement status from CML working and non-working system.
You can try following our troubleshoot steps attached to check if it works.

I realize the BIOS and CPU have to support virtualization. I looked up the CPU and it does support virtualization. however when I contacted Dell support, they said the laptop BIOS does not support virtualization. WHY.....
below is the bottom part of system info on my Alienware laptop. I have uninstalled the Hyper-V feature and installed virtual Box to see if I can run CML in that. not having any luck with any of it...
