I need to expand my CML vm on esxi 8, which would be #2. However, once you read the steps for "adding 2nd vmdk" they are the exact same for "expanding existing vmdk".
What is the difference between the two below? the steps are the same for either.
https://developer.cisco.com/docs/modeling-labs/#!method-1-adding-a-second-virtual-disk-vmdk
https://developer.cisco.com/docs/modeling-labs/#!method-2-expanding-the-existing-virtual-disk
Cml 2.6 and cml 2.7 have the same instruction, duplicate #1. What am I missing?
I think this youtube video is how you actually expand the EXISTING VM

Can anyone verify?

I can confirm 100% that the above youtube video is how to expand existing-virtual-disk.
The Cisco docs are 100% incorrect and are just a dup of "adding-a-second-virtual-disk-vmdk"

Hi @tryingtofixit , The only difference is, In Method 1, a second hard disk is added to CML VM-> edit settings in ESXI, whereas in Method 2, the existing disk size of CML is increased to the desired value. In 2.6 and above there is also a button in cockpit->CML2 -> Expand Lab storage volume to expand the disk directly.
