License implications when moving cml to new hardware

Hey Y'all,

I am thinking of taking advantage of the discount on CML, but not having the perfect hardware for that yet, I was thinking of running it on a VMPlayer instance until I get a kickass system to move to.

But just wondering if there is any gotchas when installing on temporary hardware and then wanting to move to other hardware regarding licensing etc.

Is the license tied to something like a UUID or something?

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Happy labbing

JC

Hello @haanbrand, welcome to the community!

I have done this a few times - the process is super-smooth. You just go to CLNS > "My account", select "Show licenses" and click "De-register". At that point you are free to register it for your new node.
