I have a small L2 switch topology on DevNet CML sandbox. Default configurations on all 5 switches. On each switch all ports are listed in the show spanning-tree vlan 1 output, even unconnected parts are listed as Designated and in the Forwarding state. I am under the impression that those ports should not be listed as they can't be involved in STP. I confirmed with a physical topology with 2960s. Is there any thing I need to configure in my lab so that it displays a "correct" or at least the expected behavior with only connected ports in the output of show spanning-tree vlan 1.
