Proximity Windows desktop app over Citrix / guest network allowing conections to endpoints?

As my company is now a BYOD shop when it comes to laptops, employee laptops connect over our guest wireless and access virtual desktops via Citrix. Since the Citrix receiver app can access the host machine's mic, theoretically it should be able to pair.

I've tried to open the Proximity application on Citrix and get the below error (Windows 7 Citrix VM). Any ideas about the error and/or has anyone successfully got it to pair via Citrix?

Separately, does anyone have any recommendations on how to segregate their networks to allow external devices to access their voice VLAN in a way that your security team is happy with?

This error message is likely seen because Citrix doesn't support / isn't configured for DirectX. As the dialog says, the app should still work; You just won't get the flashy UI. As long as the preferred recording device is actually the host machine's mic, the app should work.
