9200 48P OS image

Hello,

We are starting to deploy 9200 48P switches in our environment.  Has anyone had any experience with either Dublin 17.12.4 and/or IOSXE 17.16.1?  We're trying to determine which instance we want to load.  Generally we like to use the newest image but are a little wary of IOSXE 17.16.1 status of Early Development.  We use BGP and I don't see anything relevant in either release's bug notifications, has anyone had any issues with either image or suggests one over the other?

Thanks,

Sean

The new release, 17.12.5, was released if you want the latest code version.

9200 with BGP? I will be more cautious about this; Cat 9300 is ok.

Go with 17.12.4 or, as @balaji.bandi pointed out, 17.12.5.

Do not go with single-release versions like 17.16.1, 17.17.1 but go with the MD versions like 17.12.X or 17.15.X.

And I would definitely not pick a 9200 to do BGP.

Thanks @Leo Laohoo and @balaji.bandi , the more I thought about it I think it would be better to go with an MD release like you said.  Why would you not suggest a 9200 for BGP, are there known issues with this model supporting BGP?

Thanks,

Sean

Not enough CPU and memory resources.

We use 9500 if we want to do BGP stuff.

The switch basic access layer switch, you need more power switch that can have features and is able to handle the routing tables
