Cisco IP Soft Phone static and dropped calls

Good morning, 

 

I'm using Ip Soft Phone to connect with work and for work calls. After 10-15 minutes during a call I get a loud static sound and the call drops. 

I've assigned a static IP to my work laptop and it is hardlined in to the home network (NOT WIFI)

 

Has anyone experienced this or is there a known issue?

 

Do I need to use port forwarding? This is getting very frustrating

That static in the ear piece seems to be one sided on our side. The person calling in doesn’t hear the static and can hear me fine but I get this blasting static in my ear. Only way to fix it is to restart. Should there be certain ports opened for this software? Or has anyone heard of this?
