Got my hands on two C6800IA switches from work (collapsing Office space, free switches!) and flashed them to 2960X firmware (version 15.2(7)E7) and am preparing them for home use. I've got dibs on two more which will be flashed the same way.
One of these will be going in my server rack and will expand to a second switch (connected via stacking cables) and another pair will be going into a distribution closet. They too will be connected via stacking cables. The root issue is that between the closet and the server rack is only fiber so I have to use fiber to connect the four switches together. Ideally, I'd like to cable them all up so they function as a single logical entity versus four independent nodes.
I can't find much information on cabling the 2960X switches up (the 6800IA documentation is similarly lacking) for horizontal stacking over fiber, does it require use of both of the 10G links to stack or can it use only one of the links?
Any ideas or suggestions?
