How Often Are Software Updates Released?

Hello,

At work, we are upgrading our IOS for the Cisco switches. A question came up about how often does Cisco release IOS updates, firmware, and security updates. Is it random or do they do it every two weeks, months, etc.? Let me know. Thanks in advance.

Unlike old days should be years, but now a days we see many releases in span of few years time, due to bugs and new features.

demand is too high with new features, as you introudce new features - you may see some bugs based on use case, that required fixes.

past year or so seen IOS XE 3 releases different names.
