Hsrp issue

Hi, We have a two different hsrp configured router on a network but it showing active on both the device and continuesly getting fluctuate . What was the reason ???

can you post the us the logs on both the device along with show stanby brief and HSRP config.

General reasons both become Active, Connection issue between Devices., since they are not able to hello back from Active partner. Also check the Group number between the HSRP Group.

Hi Balaji Bandi ,

Both the devices are able to reached successfully without any packet drop and the group number  is also same on both the devices still they are showing Active Known in Show Standby Output.

Hi @prathameshdesai081 ,

Make sure both devices are on the same network and that nongun layer 3 device is dividing the broadcast domain.

As said by @balaji.bandi , you must ensure that there is communication between the two devices.

Make sure that the virtual gateway is the same in both devices.

Hi Luis,

Both the devices are in same network also they are able to reached successfully without any issue . we have check the virtual gateway it is also the same . still we are getting continous fluctuation in HSRP logs and showing active & Unknown on both the devices .
