Dear Community-Team,
whenever I try to configure the bootvar of my device (C4500X), it automatically choices and old firmware which isn't even on the bootflash of the system.
I can't even undo it with "no" prompts, it still appears...
I was already also in the rommon mode, cleared the boot and had to boot the correct/updated version from there.
When it is booted from the rommon, the system runs on the updated version, but when I try to configure the bootvar to set the right version the old firmware appears again in the bootvar - can be seen in the picture below:
I've never been confronted which such a unnerving issue like this before.
I hope you guys can help.
Thank you in advance!

Ok @Horizon93
you should clean up this bootbar with no boot system command first.
After configure boot system flash bootflash:IOS-NAME
Write and check with show bootvar.

Hello M02@rt37,
thank you for your interest and support.
Yes I've did this before, but I will trace my steps/commands on the following picture.
Just to show you what kind of issue appears...
*This time the old OS didn't appear, but there is still an element ",1;" before the Rommon.
Which causes an issue, since I reload the system after this bootvar configuration and it doesn't work properly:
Best regards

Hi M02@rt37,
I've managed to solve the issue.
The element was ",1;" was just a missing information in the bootvar configuration.
Which appeared also in the running- and startup config as the following:
#boot system flash
So I got rid of this by giving the command: "no boot system flash"
Then the bootvar configuration was correct and only the Rom and OS was presented which led to a succesfull upgrade after reloading the system.
Thank you again for your interest and have a nice day
best regards!
