Smart license enable on ISR

Hi Guys,

i have one ISR4331/K9 with image 16.6.6. I herad that i can enable smart licensing on this router without upgrading router to iOS which supports smart licensing.

is it true? Can you plz share steps to enable smart license on ISR4331/K9 on image 16.6.6?

Make sure the router has full connectivity (DNS lookup, external routing to the internet) before trying to register. That guide is what we used on ours.
