Has anybody ever successfully connected the SSMS to a Active Directory?
I'm failing the synchronization of the LDAP groups although sniffing the access all data are polled correctly from the directory. I get the following "gidnumber" error message.
Also when I try to add a directory user it fails with the error message "uid" => nil.
Has anybody ever seen that error messages?
Has anybody ever made the SSMS work with an active directory? What is the used LDAP-schema? Is it active directory at all or OpenLDAP or Sun Directory Server?
Any thoughts on that?

I am having the same issue. Even went to version 7 which is now call Smart Software Manager On-Prem, but the issue remains. Anyone from Cisco able to chime in?

It seems to be OpenLDAP see the following presentation (page 62):
