Hi everyone I need advise

today I want to upgrade software WLC from 8.5.151 to 8.10.130.0
whether the AP is disconnected from the controller after I upgrade the Software Version ?
or I need Smartnet for AP ?

you dont necessarily need smartnet on APs, however you should have smartnet on 5520 wlc so that you can open a case if you run into any issues. APs have limited life time warranty so most customer won’t buy smartnet on APs.

you should check wireless compatibility matrix before upgrade to make sure APs will work with new software.
