Thank you for your ansewer .

Your way works definitely.

and i did find a way to take any USB and turn it to be used with CISCO ASR 1000 router.

steps:

1- Partition your USB to 1-2 GB

2-Make that Partition Primary (and only Partition on the USB ,that means you will have unused space)

3-fat format FAT16 with clustersize 32KB.

4-make sure your USB ist USB1.1 compatible.

5-enjoy.

Make sure the USB stick is supported by the router.
Plug the stick into the router and, if supported, format the stick (Command: format usb0:).
After only the stick has been formatted do you add files into it.

Hello

How to know if the USB is supported by the Router?

Best regards

Amr Mhish

Plug the USB thumb drive into the router. The "sh log" will have entries to determine if the router will support the USB thumb drive or not.

insert USB stick into the router

Router# dir usb:

check whether able see the file in USB stick
