Migrating Network to another organization

Hi,

We have an organization A with 5 networks. licensing model is co-termination. We need to make one the the network a new organization B. That network consists of 1 MX(advance security),2 MS and 4 MRs(Enterprise license edition). when we bought these devices it was claimed under one dashboard license key.

My question:

Is it possible to unclaim those devices from org A and claim them with this same dashboard key to create a new organization B? so we dont need to buy new licenses.

Yes - Licenses may only be transferred between organizations managed by the same customer.

You would want to first create the new organization then be eligible to transfer (no need to unclaim) the device and license.

Moving Devices between Organizations

The caveat or key to do this is IF you (or the customer) manages both organizations.

On the face of it, this one looks a good candidate for an Organization Split. Read and understand the documentation carefully; in particular section 1.1.1 on limitations

If I understand the issue, the core problem you are trying to solve is you don't want to pay for licences for some of the devices? I presume these devices are no longer required?

If this is the case, then all you have to do is remove them from the network they are in. Then a licence is no longer required (when you next do a renewal).
