thank you to help on some clarification about off site protection and what kind of interaction does it exist between remote clients and local AD for umbrella reports and authentication.
we need to validate one feature , if they are feasible in case of yes what licence is required for that.
In fact we need to clarify a feature about mobile users outside of the internal site with their laptops , without any connectivity vpn to our site , their are declared In active directory but they are not connected to it because they are outside.
there are two kinds of clients ,
-First group they have the remote client any connect installed but without any vpn connection to the main site , they connect from home.
-Second group do not having any client installed.
when they authenticaticate from their home to umbrella cloud from outside and not from the office , without any vpn link and any kind of connectivity to local AD
for both groups :
1- can they authenticate to umbrella using their AD credentials , because of synchronisation between the cloud umbrella and VM or local AD connector.
2-is it possible to track them with their AD names although they are outside and not connected neither authenticated to AD and local VM.
