Im currently looking at alternate routes after CCNA rather then just go up the ladder. Perhaps devnet ? I was also considering cloud computing. I see there used to be an en exam specifically tailored ? "CCNA Cloud" but apparently that is no longer offered ? My questions are

  1. are there any cisco certs that aim at cloud computing ?

  2. if there are, are they only locked into cisco env and equipment or are they universal to move to say, aws, or azure ?

thanks

As you already mentioned, there is no CCNA Cloud any more.

Some thoughts on the cloud way:

  • Although networking works sometimes differently with the cloud-platforms, you will face challenges with routing protocols sooner or later. Getting skills there is important. This could be done by studying for the ENCORE.
  • Security is extremely important with all cloud platforms, studying for SCOR could help.
  • Of course both of the above are Cisco-focused and include lots of stuff that is not cloud related. But it will help you being a better cloud-engineer.
  • All major cloud providers have their own certification path and also free learning paths.
  • If you want to focus on cloud security, the CCSP by (ISC)2 could be a good thing to study.
