Hello, I'm Yoong Huh.
I need some help to know about CWMS file transfer process.
I deployed the CWMS system 2.5 MR2.
I checked the CWMS documents but i cannot find that how CWMS file transfer work.
I think the "file transfer" works like P2P file transfer.
Or, when user use file transfer, the file will temporary save on CWMS Media VM.
Can i find any document for how this function (file transfer) work?
Regards.

Hi Yoong Huh,
File transfer in CWMS is part of the meeting itself. So when a user is sharing the file, file is transferred via CWMS (Media server) and then it is downloaded by the other end user.
The file is not stored on the server, but the the server is a proxy in this transfer.
Only documentation available about File Transfer is here, but it doesn't contain any details on how this feature is implemented: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/1_5/User_Guide/User_Guide_chapter_01011.html
I hope this is of help.

Hi Dejan.
It's very helpful.
Here is one more question.
I think, when i share the file on CWMS, Media VM make temporory file, so another user download the file on CMWS media VM.
So, i think, it can be has limitation of file size when user use file share.
Am i understood right way?
Regards.

Hi,
The file is not uploaded to the server, the connection is just being proxied. There should be no limitation of file size when it comes to file transfer.
