Delete and Saving chat history in IM

Hi, currently im a student doing my final year project. Currently im using the

Cisco AJAX XMPP Library UI API sample client from the IM SDK folder. We dont have a unified communication server, thus, we are connecting to the cisco jabber sandbox. May i know if there is a way to delete and save the chat histoy in IM? Thanks
