Desktop Sharing for Jabber for Windows

Hi All,

We have a 'Jabber for windows deployment with on premises presence' in progress. We are facing an issue where Desktop sharing button is greyed out on a video call.

We installed the 'cmterm-bfcp-e.8-6-2.cop.sgn' cop file and followed the process as mentioned in the document 'https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-24456' as well but to no avail. We tried with all the versions of Jabber including the latest 9.0.5 which does not have the 'desktop sharing' option at all.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

CUCM Version: 8.6.2.20000-2

CUPS Version: 8.6.4 10000-28

Jabber Version: 9.0.4 Build 10773

The issue got resolved after we uploaded permanent licenses on CUCM.

What license did you load to CUCM to get desktop sharing to work? I can get both video and desktop sharing to work in Jabber for Windows soft phone mode, but not while in deskphone mode.

Such is explained in the documentation

Important Considerations

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows supports video desktop sharing in  software phone mode only. Video desktop sharing is not  available in desk phone mode.
