Help: Cisco Unity 12.5+ smarthost authentication and encryption.

Hi Pals,

Is there a way to connect  to the mail servers to be authenticated and encrypted.

I think unity connection uses the smart host in the relay server (port 25) to send voicemail messages. Attached.

but we would like to send messages to the exchange server using the username/passwrd.

Is there a way to do this securely?

Not sure what you're trying to do here, the smart host configuration has no way to configure any kind of authentication as you can see in the page.

If you're trying to configure UM, the credentials go under the UM service.
