Is there a character limit in a Jabber chat window?

Hi,

Is there a character limit per entry in a Jabber chat?  Some users are trying to paste large amounts of text into a chat window and it is getting cut off. Is there a way to increase it. Running CM 9.12 , IM&P 9.1.1.5 and Jabber 10.6.1

yes it is. we are using jabber 10.6.5 the character limit is 2000 characters.

I don´t think so. we have also some users to paste word documents in the chat window :-)

we say, send it with file. it is a chat applikation :-)

Anyone know if there's still no way around this in the later 11.x versions?  The limit is really stupid; it makes our developers not want to use jabber since they often paste snippets of code to each other, SQL queries, etc. which there's no reason to email or retain.
