jabber 9.6 loses audio settings

I have a Jabra BIX2300 headset with microphone installed and set these up in the audio options section.  Everything is fine for a while.  However, after some time the settings are lost and I end up with the speakers defaulting to the laptop speakers and the microphone to the laptop built-in microphone, neither of which being very useful.  Can anyone explain why this happens?

I managed to solve this one smiley  In File -> Options -> Audio -> Advanced the order of selection of devices is specified.  By placing the Jabra microphone and headphone at the top of the list they are always selected if they are plugged in.  Unplugging them causes the laptop speakers and microphone to be used but as soon as I plug them in again they immediately are selected.
