Jabber Directory Lookup Authentication

Hi,

Looking for some inputs around Jabber Directory(LDAP) look ups via Jabber-config.xml file. As my customer is not happy with the generic Username\Password specified in the jabber config file. They also not happy with the clear text of the Username\Password. There Microsoft Security team recons this is an huge Security Violation for there environment. I have recommended creating and user account with only read access for this, still not satisfied, although we using it at all our other customers.

Is there any way to configure user specific authentication to LDAP via jabber-config file.Or is there any other way to get around this issue.

Help will be appreciated.

You can use UDS as the Directory source. This way, Jabber obtains the Directory from CUCM.

Else, if the PC is a part of AD domain, you would not need to configure EDI.

Or you can use the parameter <UseWindowsCredentials>
