Jabber for Mac automatic update stuck on "Extracting Update"

I'm trying to push out Jabber update 14.0.4 to my users. The Windows auto-update works perfectly. The Mac users get the prompt, they click "Install", the download finishes, and then the update gets stuck on "Extracting Update"

Here's the Mac section of my jabberupdate.xml:

<App name="JabberMac">
<LatestBuildNum>14.0.4.306555</LatestBuildNum>
<LatestVersion>14.0.4</LatestVersion>
<Mandatory>true</Mandatory>
<Message><![CDATA[This version of Cisco Jabber provides mandatory security updates.]]>
</Message>

</App>

The file that I renamed to the .zip file as above is the sparkle guided pkg.

The Macs are running Monterey 12.2.1.

Any idea what might be causing this problem?

I just figured this out, and posting here in case someone else makes the same newbie mistake as me... or in case I make the same mistake next time and come here looking for answers...

After downloading the autoupdate zip file, I unzipped it, and then copied the resulting Install_Cisco-Jabber-Mac.sparkle_guided.pkg file to my web server and renamed it to the long and ugly filename as mentioned in the xml file above.

Don't unzip it.

Just copy the CiscoJabberMac-......-AutoUpdate.zip file to your web server and rename it as required.
