1) Do you know or recommend any specific CVS applications to use with
the CISCO CVP VoiceXML Studio tool?

2) Is there detailed information on which CVS tools are 'supported' or recommended by Cisco for the Cisco CVP environment specifically?

Hi,

Eclipse, which CVP VXML Studio is built on, has a CVS client built in which you can easily configure to connect to your CVS repository. For more information, please refer to the Audium Knowledge Base article How to use source control to manage an Audium application which applies to both Audium and CVP versions of Studio.

If you do not have a CVS repository set up then you will need to do so before attempting to configure Studio to connect to CVS. Setting up a CVS repository is a complex task and in most cases can be very specific to each company. I would suggest asking your internal IT team for advice on how to set it up correctly. You could also check the CVS FAQ on the Eclipse Wiki for more details.

Regards,
Roberto

Roberto,

I think what most people are looking for is information on whether any specific CVS servers and clients are recommended, supported or specifically unsupported.

Hi,

CVP 3.1 and Studio 3.4.x use Eclipse 2.1.2 which supports CVS server versions from CVS 1.11.1p1 to CVS 1.11.6

Studio 5.0, Studio 5.1 and Studio 5.2 use Eclipse 3.1 which supports CVS server versions from CVS 1.11.1p1 to 1.11.17 and CVSNT 2.0.58b

The CVS FAQ on the Eclipse Wiki has more information on supported and unsupported CVS server versions for different releases of Eclipse.

Hope this helps,
Harish
