Hi,

anyone that can give me a clever answer to why VCD 1.1.0 can´t connect to a C90? The error message is can not get response from 192.168.61.200. I can connect with Putty using Telnet and SSH and I can browse the codec over HTTP. Audio Console can also talk to the Codec. Software version is TC2.0.0.191232.

Kind Regards
Mattias

Hi Mattias,

This sounds a bit strange - it works for me using the same software versions as you do.
What is the exact error message you get? Usually there is an "error was: ..." phrase as part of the return message.

Regards,
Ariel

Hi Ariel,

I have the same problem. Error message is: "Please specify a password". This message appeares all the time if I choose telnet. I try right, wrong and empty pass.
The connection to the system is OK. C60 codec version: TC2.0.0.191232.

Hello Dmitry,

Hmm, I am actually able to reproduce this. When a telnet (admin) password is set on the codec, it is not possible to connect to it from the Video Compositor Demo application. I will file a bug here and follow up. It will however take a few days for us to look into this due to travels.

Meanwhile, if you can manage some days without having the password set, you will be able to connect to the codec from the compositor demo. Delete the password through the following command:
xcom SystemUnit AdminPassword Set Password: ""

Regards,
Ariel

Great thanks! It works

Will it be a new version of Video Compositor or new firmware package for C60/C90?

This is a problem with the Video Compositor - so expect a new version of this application soon...

Greetings all.  I have just upgraded my lab computer to Windows 7.  The Video Compositor Demo ver 1.1 and ver 1.1.1 do not run in this environment.  I tried setting Compatibility within Windows to XP mode, but that didn't work either.

Any hints for getting this app to work in Windows 7?

thanks,

Hi Enrico,

Just tested with my laptop running windows 7 32bit. I had no issues at all installing and using this. Are you using the 64bit version of Windows 7?

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger - I just did a fresh install of Compositor version 1.1.1 on a new machine running Windows 7 64-bit, and it worked like a charm.

The other machine - the one that had the problem - had been upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and the Compositor app stopped working after the upgrade.

So I am good to go.  Thanks for your response.

Enrico

I spoke with Dave Moss, who has tried installing the Video Compositor Demo rev 1.1.1 on two separate PCs that were upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.  The app won't run on either one.  I had exactly the same experience; but I ended up getting a new PC with a factory Windows 7 install which worked fine.

We both tried running the Video Compositor demo in Compatibility mode for XP and for Vista, but that didn't work either.  So there appears to be a problem running the app on a PC that has been upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks.

I have a Windows 7 machince and I can not get the Image Compositor to work. Does anyone have any suggestion? I've dowloaded 1.1.2 and still no luck.

Hi,

We have identified that there is an issue with Windows 7. Some installations work and some do not. It is not isolated to PCs upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. My own PC was fresh installed with Windows 7 and was working fine with the Video Compositor a few months. Suddenly it stopped working. Running in compatibility mode does not help. One theory is that one of the windows update has broken something.

We do not currently have any fix for this.

Best regards
Roger

Hi,
it seems that Microsoft have been able to break backwards compatibility for some of the libraries that the compositor demo uses, thus the problems. We have been looking at it but have not been able to resolve the issue yet, Sorry.

Hello again,

Can anyone state if there's been any progress on this Windows 7 issue?

Hi Jim,

There has been no progress in this area. However the Video Compositor Demo tool will soon be replaced by a new tool which will also work on Windows 7. Stay tuned.

Best regards
Roger
