Created by: Randy Ott on 27-03-2012 07:46:57 PM Hi, We want to use the 1080p4xS2 with the C40, and also use the camera as a room monitor. We need to disconnect the HDMI input to the C40 during the room monitoring process, but I want to maintain control through the C40. So with the camera HDMI not connected (switched away), will the RS232 control signals continue to control the camera?
Cheers Randy

Hi Randy - the control chain is separate from the video chain. As long as you have a working camera control cable hooked up to the 12X camera, the codec should be able to see it and control it. The command to check this is xStatus Camera 1 (assuming the 12X is first in the control chain).
Also, keep in mind that all 12X cameras have both HDMI and HD-SDI outputs, which are hot at all times. In particular the S2 camera has updated HD-SDI electronics and should work with any 3rd party HD-SDI device.
