Hello everyone,
We are in the process of testing some Cisco Touch Screen CS units with our C20 codecs, now that the C20 codecs support them. As some of you may know already, you have to pair the Cisco Touch Screen CS with the C20 codec. When doing this, you are required to enter the user name and password of the C20 codec, from within the Cisco Touch Screen CS.
So far, it appears that I cannot use the Cisco Touch Screen CS units with anything other than full administrator rights on the C20 codec. Therefore, I cannot limit users from having the ability of the administrator functions within the Cisco Touch Screen CS unit.
While I was testing this with a C20 codec, I created a “touchpanel” user account within the web interface. (See attached screen shot.)
Under the “Roles” section, I tried using the Cisco Touch Screen CS without having any of these categories checked. This did not work, so I then tried it with the “USER” option checked. However, this did not work either.
I then tried the “AUDIT” and “USER” options enabled together, but this resulted in the same thing.
All of these scenarios made it so that the Cisco Touch Screen CS would attempt to connect to the C20 codec, but would never completely authenticate. Each time I made sure that I typed the username of “touchpanel” into the Cisco Touch Screen CS, along with the proper password.
It would only work if I at least had the "ADMIN" option enabled within the user account of the C20 codec.
My hope was that the Cisco Touch Screen CS would connect (pair with the C20) and not display the administrator settings. (Our users could potentially mess up a setting by mistake and we would like to eliminate that possibility.)
Do any of you know if the Cisco Touch Screen CS units will eventually have the option to lock out the administrator functions?

Correct, to be able to pair you need to be administrator. You can however disable the access to admin settings by using
xCommand SystemUnit MenuPassword Set password
With this setting activated the user need to input the menupassword when using the Touch or the Remote control.
