In the IP Phone input xml screen for 7970 and probably all 79xx phones
In CUCM 8.0 defining the input flag as U for CiscoIPPhoneInput would limit the input to a Uppercase letter only.
If you press button 2 your only choice would be: ABC
In CUCM 8.6 it has now added the numeric key to the front so pressing button 2 now gives a choice of: 2ABC
Has anyone seen any information on this, is this a change or a bug.

Can you provide the firmware version in which you see this behaviour? Have you checked if there is an updated firmware load available?
