I'm using a Crestron Controller to control a C90 Codec, i'm trying to create a custom layout in which it separates my main screen in 2 frames.  Frame 1 shows the Near End Presentation and Frame 2 Shows the Far End Camera.
I'm using the Video Compositior Application available here at the Developer Zone,  and i'm suing the API output to create my code.
My problem is that everytime a new call is placed the c90 generates a new source ID for my far end video.   So basically I only get my Near End Frame Created when I run the API code since the Crestron doesnt know what the new ID for the Far End video is.
I've tried capturing the id from the Tandberg but with no luck.

Has anyone tried anything similar?  Or is there any ways in which I can save the layout as a "preset" or something like it and just call it up from my controller?

Thank you for all in advance.

Hi Andre,
have you looked at the lastest crestron module (v1.3) available on this site? It includes a couple of complete examples of what you are trying to achieve.

Hi there,

I tried something similar! I want to store video layouts on the codec, which I have defined in a startup-script! I got the same problem with the changing videosourceIds for far-end.

Is there a solution for this or is the possibility of storing video layouts by a script not the best idea?

I thought this would be a very good thing. All wanted video layouts will be created by codec-startup and a crestron-system for example simply has to send the "AssignLocalOutput" command with the related layoutid to the codec.

Regards,
Benjamin

Storing the layouts by script is probably not going to give you a lot as you currently need to have some kind of logic to control the input sources of the frames of a layout (using callid's to assign remote sites to a frame)

If you look at the demo code in the crestron module v1.3 it demonstrates how we do it where the control system sets up all the layouts it requires at start and then dynamically assigns both calls to frames and layouts to sites and inputs dynamically as the calls are connected and disconnected
