Hey there everyone,

An end user wants to have some indication on their Crestron controller that a call has been missed when they have Do Not Disturb enabled on their 6000MXP.  As is stands now, if a call is missed, there is no way of knowing that unless you have the presence of mind to check the missed calls log every time you bring the codec out of Do Not Disturb.  The end user would like this to be real time, so they can see the calls as they are missed.

Let me say up front that I am not a programmer.

My initial idea was to use the Crestron to put the 6000 into DnD mode, then have it poll the codec for any changes in the Missed Calls log.  Is this possible?

My next idea was to have the Crestron put the 6000 into DnD mode, then have it monitor any messages the 6000 sends out after that, looking for the "486: Busy" or any other "call denied" message.  Is that possible?

I'd like to point out that I am not married to either of my ideas.  If there is any way to do what the end user wants, I'll take it.  From what I have been able to find out on my own, it doesn't look like there is a way to do it.  Please prove me wrong.

Thanks!

Hi Bob,
you have actually stumbles upon a lacking feature in the MXP API. There is currently no way of listing missed calls using the API. Nor will the codec API give any feedback when a call is denied.

I have forwarded your posting to the MXP team so that they can have a look at it.

Best Regards,
David

David,

How quickly could a fix be put in place?  The customer is anxious.

After the codec is taken out of DND mode, can we force the codec to display on-screen the missed call list, regardless of whether there is new data?

Thanks for the reply David.  Please let me know if the MXP guys come up with something.
