Created by: null on 09-03-2007 04:31:16 PM I installed the full software and edited the C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\Audium\WEB-INF\web.xml file, however when I went to the http page to login it did not work. The system would not let me enter a valid password or I forgot it. So, I decided to uninstall the software and reinstall it this time writing down the password. However, this and the next two times I installed it there was not a web.xml file in that directory. The Audium\WEB-INF directory is created but there is not a web.xml file to update. Please let me know if you can help with this as I want to get your software up and working.
There are a few things you need in order to have a clean installation of Audium web application. After you uninstall, please make sure both Audum.war and the expanded Audium directory are removed from Tomcat 5.5\webapps. You may need to restart the server or manually delete them. Any changes to web.xml file in the expanded directory may break the application.
Hope this helps,
John
Subject: RE: Missing web.xml file Replied by: Janine Graves on 11-03-2007 04:16:48 PM Are you trying to enable Vxml log debug and tracing? If it's Audium Studio 5.1, there is a new way to do this without using the web.xml file. See the Knowledge Base for that.
Subject: web.xml Replied by: null on 13-03-2007 09:48:59 PM I did try that and removed the Audium directory under the apache but now the Audium directory is not being installed. It is like the Call Servers is not been reinstalled on my system. I am using the full Installation and enter both keys, any suggestions.
Thanks to Janine for suggesting the Knowledge Base.
To install and start Audium Call Services, you do not need to edit the Audium\WEB-INF\web.xml file.
As you mentioned that your previous installations are not successful, you should uninstall to start again. After you uninstall, ensure that the expanded Audium web application directory and the Audium.war file do not appear in your TOMCAT\webapps directory. Also, ensure that the AudiumHome directory is uninstalled in the INSTALLATION_PATH you previously selected.
If you still have problem with the installation of Audium Call Services, post any error messages that appear.
Hope this helps, Tam
Subject: RE: web.xml Replied by: null on 14-03-2007 08:50:02 PM yeah, that is what I did. I uninstalled removed the war file and the full Audium dir and then reinstalled. Once I installed it I did get the audium.war file but not the directory. Maybe that is right, but I can not login or pull up the call service. I did not see anything in the docs to help explain what is wrong.
Please let me know if you can help I would like to be able to test a vxml application using your system.
Thank you
Subject: RE: web.xml Replied by: Vance Vagell on 14-03-2007 08:58:06 PM Hi Todd,
If the Audium.war file is showing up in your Tomcat "webapps" folder, then you can start Audium Call Services by restarting Tomcat. When Tomcat is restarted, it looks through the "webapps" folder for new WAR files to deploy, and if it finds one (as it should find Audium.war) it will extract it to a new sub-folder.
In your Tomcat console (or stdout log file if are running Tomcat as a service), you should see Audium Call Services startup with a message similar to the following:
[code:1:44ddcb1d63]Starting AudiumServer... Audium (R) Server v3.6.10, Copyright (c) 2000-2007 Audium Corporation. All rights reserved.[/code:1:44ddcb1d63]
Do you see such a message after restarting Tomcat? If not, could you please confirm that the Audium.war file was installed into the "webapps" folder of the Tomcat installation that you are using (in case you have multiple Tomcat installations)?
Regards, Vance
Subject: RE: web.xml Replied by: null on 15-03-2007 03:58:38 PM Thanks a lot Vance, that appeared to be my issue the entire time. I just needed to restart Tomcat or reset my computer. Thanks again. Now I am going to see if I can figure out how to get Call Service running to actually play my vxml script.
