I was told by a customer that they noticed something while setting up multiple rooms with identical equipment. 4 rooms, the codecs are C90s, each one having 3 monitors attached. What they are trying to have happen is when they aren't in a call, the Advanced Config>Video>Monitors setting is Dual. When they get into one of their meetings with all 4 rooms, they want to change to Quadruple, so that they can have the Presentation on one monitor, and the participants divided between the other two monitors.
They are able to do this, but only for the codec that is the host of the Multisite call. The other 3 rooms have the Presentation on one monitor, and all of the participants in a composite frame on another monitor, much like a Dual monitor setup. They are wondering how to get the same layout distribution in each room.
I see that there is an AutoModeRemote SetLayoutFamily command, with a FollowLocal parameter for the LayoutFamily. If that is set on the host for the Multisite call, will that allow the "slave" participants in the MS call to arrange the participants as the host can? Because there are 3 monitors instead of 4, the customer is having to create custom layouts with their Crestron controllers. I am pretty sure a custom layout cannot be relayed to all participants, but will this command allow each endpoint to arrange the layout in a similar manner as the host?
Thanks!

what the customer wants is currently not possible. The host in the multisite calls can do it because it gets all the remote sites as individual video streams and can output these to separate screens. But currently in the standards-based videoconferencing world remote sites are only able to receive two separate video streams; one main and a secondary (mostly used for presentation). Therefore the host sends out one main stream containing a composite image of all sites + presentation on the secondary stream.
If you want to have the scenario you describe you currently need to use multiple codecs on all locations.

That's what I suspected, but it's good to get confirmation. Not that it will make the customer feel any better.

One of my customers are in a similar situation... They have 3 C60's with one of them serving with Multisite for conferences. With 3 of them in a conference, only the central "multisite" C60 can see other sites in fullscreen on its two displays. The non-multisite sites seem to be stuck with only one monitor, displaying other sites on a single monitor.
Only way we can use the second display on the remote sites is either when there is a presentation, or by showing the local cam feed, which is not very nice to do.
